It is with great sorrow that we must give a loving farewell to our beloved Bianca who crossed the Rainbow Bridge this evening to join her step brother Misha and cousins Tucker and Tasha to frolic forever and to wait for us to join them.
Bianca came into our lives 10 years ago, just days after Misha left us suddenly. Jennifer was a volunteer at the Escondido Humane Society center when she was told by staff that a new puppy had been surrendered there. When Jenn decided to see what it would be like to hold another dog so soon after losing Misha, the little poodle Bichon mix refused to be let down.
Jennifer and I decided that her name was to be Bianca to which she immediately responded. She had a small wound on her forehead, but otherwise was in good health with all vaccinations, had been spayed and microchipped courtesy of the humane society. Bianca immediately became the center of our home. She was my constant companion during the dark days of the lockdown and was my excuse for getting outside in the sunshine and fresh air. From then on whenever I was home, she was next to me or curled up on her doggie bed in my office. Incredibly aware of her surroundings she always let us know if there were other dogs or neighbors on the sidewalk. Six months ago a mass was discovered in her stomach that was inoperable. She never outwardly complained but remained steady with her companionship, always ready to cuddle but losing weight as she ate with less gusto.
Bianca was loved by all that came in contact with her whether on a walk in the neighborhood or on an outing with us.
She will be greatly missed by her family near and far. We are thankful for the time that she was with us and the unadulterated love she gave. We are also thankful for the care and love that she was given by her veterinarians.
