A New Adventure

This week will be the next episode in our “dog life”. After losing our little beloved Bianca, Jennifer and I quickly came to the understanding that we were missing the companionship that Bianca had provided to us. We missed having her greet us at the door when we came home and having her curl up beside us on the couch or our bed. It didn’t take much discussion about getting another pooch, but which one? I had expressed a desire to get a Lagotto Romagnolo or Italian Water Dog but it was more difficult to justify and we decided that a Bichon Frisé would be an ideal pup. Bichons originated from Barbet water spaniel and Standard Poodles, basically making it a cousin of the Lagotto, so I was good with that fact.

Jennifer did a lot of research on the breed and breeders. We found a local breeder that prioritized the health of her pups and has many AKC champions in her history.

This coming week we will be picking up our new additions; yes plural, when we went to interview the breeder and see what she had in a new brood, we absolutely fell for them. So instead of one, we decided on two that were a bonded pair, Fiona and Lily and Jenn’s sister Dani decided that she wanted to get one herself and named it Bessie. That means we will have three sibling packmates! More details and pictures to come.
